All is set at “Telugu Vijayam” at Gandipet near here, for hosting the Telugu Desam Party's three-day annual meeting Mahanadu 2011 beginning Friday.
The sprawling campus where the NTR Model School functions now, was awash in yellow with party flags and buntings occupying every little space. A tastefully decorated massive dais was in place with the impressive backdrop comprising huge portraits of the party founder, N.T. Rama Rao, and the president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The venue turned into a beehive of activity on Thursday with party leaders busy overseeing the arrangements.
The Mahanadu, which coincides with founder NTR's birth anniversary, will begin with the hoisting of the party flag amid rendering of “Maa Telugu Thalliki”, presentation of a report by the general secretary and followed by opening remarks by Mr. Naidu. Party leaders were busy giving final touches to the draft resolutions to be adopted at the meeting.
These include crisis in agriculture, irrigation, deterioration in basic facilities, Central and State government's corruption, indiscriminate allotment of government land, poor financial condition and failure in addressing the price rise. The Mahanadu will conclude on Sunday after a discussion on the political resolution.
