The Warangal Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district unit president Revuri Prakash Reddy has accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for resorting to ‘goondaism’ and causing panic among the voters at Station Ghanpur constituency.

He alleged that in the guise of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee some persons were committing violent acts against the TDP workers. Even the advocates, who were associated with Advocates JAC, were trying to hold up the by-election campaign meetings of TDP, he said.

Addressing a press conference he said that the TRS election in-charge and Siddipet MLA T.Harish Rao has was employing party workers from his home town of Siddipet to create violence during the election campaigning to gain political mileage.

He said that the TRS leaders were imposing elections on the people of Telangana  again and again with the promise that they would yield Telangana state. “So far four by-elections were held and this is the fifth one since TRS came into existence and the statehood issue remained no where in sight ” he explained.

They were trying to deceive the people by exploiting  the sentiment and the people should understand that repeated by-elections would hamper the development  Referring to Saturday’s clashes at Station Ghanpur wherein the TRS and TDP workers have clashed at several places, he appealed to the Election Commission to swing into action and curb unruly behaviour of TRS and its affiliated associations.

He also urged the election officials to evacuate all those who came from outside the constituency while adding that the TDP leaders who does not belong to the constituency would also keep away from the constituency.

Prakash Reddy suggested that campaign should only be conducted by the candidates and their respective local supporters so as to ensure a peaceful electioneering. He urged the advocates and teachers who were members of JAC allow the by-election be conducted smoothly.
