 TDP president and former chief minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, who earlier served as a convenor of the United Front, said the party would play a key role in national politics along with like-minded parties since both the Congress and the BJP had lost the people's confidence.
Speaking reporters on the sidelines of party workers' meeting in Narasannapeta of Srikakulam district, he said the TDP would chalk out an action plan to build up alternative political platform before 2014 general elections.
When asked about the poll prospects of the party in the triangular fight in the by-elections, he said TDP would gain with the division of votes between Congress and YSR Congress.
The Telugu Desam president said that triangular fight in 2009 was different from the present scenario.
