TDP urges people to support strike:

Telugu Desam urban president V.Vamsimohan appealed to the people to participate in the one-day strike on April 27 for Machilipatnam Port.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said all political parties except Congress will be participating in the strike. He requested all the government officials and private offices to extend their cooperation.

He criticised the government for neglecting such an important issue of Krishna district. He said Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy and Congress government have failed to fulfil the election promise. He took strong objection to the role of the Congress legislators of Krishna district. He blamed Parliament member Lagadapati Rajagopal and Minister K Pardha Saradhi for not presenting the key issues before the State government.

Stating that Machilipatnam Port was working even during the British rule, Mr Vamsimohan said that all the ports were developed while neglecting this historical port. He revealed that if the port was ready, Krishna district and as well as the people of the area would enjoy the fruits of development. He wondered why the legislators were not interested in getting the port.

He found fault with the government for not announcing the facts of the port work. He blamed the Congress government for ‘cheating’ the people of Krishna district on this issue. He criticised the government for its failure to implement the election promises of the port. He said the Telugu Desam Party would fight till the port was constructed. He requested the people to extend their support for the genuine cause and observe the bandh on April 27.
